• An article wrongly stated that Gino Coutinho – goalkeeper of the Netherlands' Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag – had been sentenced along with his girlfriend to 12 months in prison. The court has yet to hand down any ruling. Twelve months is the sentence that the prosecution is seeking in the case, where the footballer is accused of owning a cannabis farm, forgery and money laundering. We apologise for our mistake (The Dutch goalkeeper who makes Joey Barton look like Theo Walcott, 22 April, Sport, page 1).

• A government smog warning was said to have been issued for central London during Easter weekend, triggered by high readings from pollution monitors on the Marylebone Road artery. In fact the warning was much wider, covering England and Wales, and was based on national monitoring (Bank holiday sun, smog and the staycationers, 22 April, page 9).

• A review suggested that after centenary concerts in 2010 marking Gustav Mahler's birth, further concerts were planned in 2011 to mark the centenary of his death. "I had no idea," said a reader, "that he was such a prodigy." It was the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth that was marked in 2010 (Classical: Philharmonia/Maazel, Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, 14 April, page 34).
