Ambulance takes two-year-old boy to Southampton General Hospital but staff unable to save him
A two-year-old boy has died after being found unconscious in a paddling pool.
Police and ambulance crews were called on Wednesday evening to a house in Southampton where the boy was found not breathing.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
The South Central Ambulance Service said two ambulances and were sent to the incident and the crew treated the toddler. He was then taken to Southampton General Hospital but staff were unable to save him and he died.
Hampshire Police said officers went to the house following the child's death, adding: "Officers from the constabulary's specialist investigations department are currently investigating."
