Jude Law selected for Cannes jury

Actor joins Robert de Niro and Uma Thurman to select Palme d'Or winning feature film

Jude Law has been chosen as one of the jurors for the 64th Cannes film festival.

The actor will sit on the feature film jury, of which Robert de Niro is president. Other members include American actor Uma Thurman, Hong Kong director Johnny To and French director Olivier Assayas. They will be responsible for awarding prizes including the Palme d'Or.

Law first came to attention in the 1997 film Gattaca and has since starred in hits including The Talented Mr Ripley, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, and Sherlock Holmes. The Cannes film festival runs from 11 May to 22 May.
