Singer nominated for Classic Brit honour after recording track on hit album by The Priests
Former Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan is in the running to land a Classic Brit award.
The singer features on a hit album by The Priests, performing a version of Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth.
The group are up for best album with their third release Noel, alongside Aled Jones and the Benedictine Nuns Of Notre-Dame.
Jones – shortlisted for his Christmas Gift release – also lines up against a teenager whom he manages, 13-year-old Isabel Suckling, nominated for her album The Choirgirl Isabel.
MacGowan is noted for his colossal drink intake over many years, but made an unlikely pairing with the group – all ordained Catholic priests – last year.
